Reading Response Day 1

#1 The setting was at first at the white house but then it changed to a highway where Booth ploted to kill lincoln then, it was at the theatre. When I first started to read the book, Lincoln is giving a speech about freedom, then when he was done giving the speech he went to the theatre where the man shot him in the theatre, Lincoln went to see a play, but the book says that he got shot about the middle minute mark of the play the person who shot him was John Wilkes Booth, he was also known for his good looks and his rich looking clothes, in fact he was wearing very fancy clothes when he shot him. So maby that means he was happy he shot him. The reason he shot Abraham lincoln is because John Wilkes Booth did not like Lincoln ending the cival war because he thought that the war must go on. Also, just momments after Booth shot Lincoln, he ran out of the theatre, but it doesn't say why he ran out it just said that he did so.

#2in the prouluge I read that the president was giving the speech like you said. and i thought the setting was on a stageb and it was by the white house . i also thought that presindent lincoln reallly is a true president. but the main setting was at the play they were atending in 1815 i think it a cousin play. i dont know but it was a good book so far.
Extra Comments: Ryan, I realy liked this book so far because it has a lot of true facts in it. yea me to it really brings out the detail that i or we havent heard before. I think the speech also took place on the stage and in 1815 the cousin's play

( The information above I learned in the book today) "THIS IS ALL TRUE" that is what it said on the back, this sure is a good book, thanks for helping me find it :-)
Reading Response Day 3

#1 My favorite character is president Lincoln because the book explains most of him, for example, a moment after Booth shot Lincoln, Lincoln yelled, "Stop that man!" some people were frightened and some thought it was part of the play... but some didn't hear it at all. My least favorite character is Booth because Booth was the one who shot Lincoln and Booth is a very dirty man for doing that.

#2in number 2 the charecter or the killer that is mjy favoirtite is booth because he is a fsmous actor and killer ha ha kiddind. my favorite is president Lincoln because he is a president and he is honest and loyal kind hearted and even helpful to people who arent to him.I have to say thanks for picking this book out

Extra Comments: Mrs. Rowe-Who wrote their reading responce under Day 3? - Jacob P. Mrs. Rowe: I'm not sure Jacob but thanks for letting me know! Good job referring to the book in your response.

Ryan- On page 39 at the bottom of the page, Harry hawk shouted "You sockdologizing old mantrap" Do you know what that means?

Ryan- How come Booth's assassin group wasn't involved in shooting Lincoln, maby they helped him plot it perhaps?

Reading Response Day 5

#1 One of the main events in this story is when Booth got very close to the President and when Harry Hawk (An actor in the play) Shouted his line "You sockdologizing old mantrap"Booth then shot Lincoln and some were frightend, some thought it was part of the play, and some people didn't even hear a peep. Then the major guy said "Stop that man!" then, Booth stabbed him very deep and said "Victory of the South!" then he fled onto his horse and galloped out of town, the president was Quickly sent to the hospital. People from the Theatre came steaming out of the fords theatre and into the hospital then one of the nurses said "Everyone out who is not operating on the president" so they did. Mrs. lincoln was weeping for her husband and the docters encouraged her to leave and she did. The docters operated and operated on him to help him survive, but then the docters came out and told Mrs. Lincoln "Your husband is dead" she cried very hard, she could not belive this is happening and then the priest said a murmer prayer to GOD and then said amen... All was Quiet for the rest of the night.
#2
one of the main events in the story was in the president box when he said time to make history. and thn he shot president Lincoln in the back of the head and the bullet rested in the back of his head and stayed there. then when doctor leale went up to the box and saved the president's life from an immedeate death! and another main event was when they tried to kill the secratery of the stae in his mansion. james powwell when he took his six shot evolver cstuck it in his pocket and knocked on the door of the mansion when the servant answerd he said he would deliver it himself.so when they went upstairs he killed fredrick i think and then ran into the room and tried to kill the secratary.

Extra Comments:
so far this book is very very good and the way the plot is it makes it an awesome book. Yeah Ryan, I understand this book very well and has a lot of detail on how Booth shot Lincoln.

Mrs. Rowe: Jacob, I was impressed with your summary of the book. I really feel like I understand the events even though I've never read it before! Great job!

Reading Response Day 7
#1 This book renindes me of when my granparents had a dog named, Libby, the doctors did everything they could, but eventually they had to put her down. This moment reminds me of the book because it was when Lincoln was in the hospital and the doctors did everything they could, but he passed away. Linclon's wife weeped, she never saw her husband's face again. Another moment was when I was also at a theatre and someone shot someone in the crowd and everybody had to leave the theatre. This reminds me of the book because in the crowd booth shot Lincoln in the middle of the play and the same thing happened when I was at the theatre.

#2

Extra Comments: Ryan- Today I just descovered that Booth's assasen crew was met at some sort of base, do you know what type of base it is? If jones helped the assasins then I thought wasnt he one of the earlieer assassins? In the thicket John Wilkes booth broke his leg did he ever shout or did anyone identifie him? Ryan- I think that jones was the earlier part assassin, he was scentenced to death by hanging. And I think maby at one point Booth was yelling but I'm not sure and one of his parthners betrayed him and told the army that he was in the barn,

Reading Response Day 9

#1 John Wilkes booth was murdered at a barn on the contryside he could not escape because he was trapped by the blaze in the barn and herold WAS arested. John Wilkes Booth was murdered by one of the men that were in the army surronding the barn and the army men dragged him to a burial. The pesedent was burried in Washington D.C (District of colubia). All the rest of the assassins that were responsible for murdering Lincoln were either sentenced to jail for life, or they were hanged.

#2 during the book they found booth and arrested herold and wouldnt jhon wilkes booth nevere be able to escape. because of his leg and the big main event was the assaassintation of jhon wilkes booth and bang goes the president. another one was the the escape at mudd and garrets farm.
